The UAE cabinet has approved a new Remote Work Visa that will enable employees from all over the world to live and work remotely from the UAE, even if their companies are based in another country.
The decision was reached on Sunday during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The aim is to position the UAE as an ideal work and tourist destination, also to attract talents and expertise from all over the world, the UAE cabinet approved a new Remote Work Visas scheme to enable employees from all over the world to work remotely from the UAE.
The one-year visa allows foreigners to enter the UAE under self-sponsorship and work in line with terms and conditions issued with the visa. The Remote Work residency permit meant that “any employee anywhere in the world can reside in the UAE to practice work remotely even if the company is not present in the country”.
UAE also approved a multiple entry tourist visa for all nationalities to strengthen the UAE’s status as a global economic capital. Multiple Entry Tourist Visa can now be issued for all nationalities, in a step that aims to facilitate the process for tourists and visitors. The five-year visa enables tourists to enter multiple times on self-sponsorship and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, which can be extended for another 90 days.
